Alberta Provincial Nominee Program

The fourth-largest province in Canada is Alberta. Under the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP), applicants may apply in one of three streams, each of which has certain qualifications.

 

  • Opportunity Stream in Alberta (AOS)
  • Express Entry Stream for Alberta
  • Farmer Working for Himself Stream

Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS)

For post-graduation work permits, holders must provide proof of their academic credentials (degrees/diplomas), whereas eligible candidates must have a current work permit for their specific employment.

 

Occupation

You may apply for a job in any industry that matches your previous work experience and falls under National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill levels 0, A, B, C, and D.

 

Language

  • The Canadian Benchmark takes into account whether the language is English or French (CLB).
  • For both the English and French language tests, a minimum score of 4 is needed.
  • The AINP demands a minimum score of CLB of 7 for English or NCLC of 7 for French language for positions as nurse assistants, orderlies, and patient service representatives.
  • Job seekers for NOC 0, A, or B jobs must have at least CLB 5 in both English and French.
  • Your application cannot be submitted with any official test results that are more than two years old.

 

Education

Applicants who qualify must have finished high school in their own country of origin. Holders of Post-Graduation Work Permits are subject to additional education and employment standards specific to their field of study in Alberta.

 

Experience at Work

  • The present occupation must be compatible with your work history at the time of application and require the minimum work experience listed below.
  • In the case of individuals having Post-Graduation Work Permits within the last 18 months, 6 months of full-time work experience
  • 12 months of recent full-time employment within the last 18 months prior to application.
  • 24 months of continuous full-time employment in Canada or abroad within the 30 months preceding the application. The experience acquired can include work done in Alberta, across Canada, or even internationally.

Alberta Express Entry Stream

The Express Entry Stream for Alberta accepts candidates who meet the requirements of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) Express Entry programme.

 

  • Before they can apply, applicants will get a notification of interest.
  • A Notification of Interest will be sent to applicants who provide convincing evidence of their contribution to Alberta’s economic development.
  • The Express Entry pool will then be used to choose qualified applicants.
  • Additionally, graduates from abroad are taken into account for the express admission stream.

Self-Employed Farmer Stream

The following requirements are made for the self-Employed Farmer stream.

 

  • The required minimum equity investment of CDN $500,000 also demonstrates that more money is invested than required.
  • Candidates must be proficient in agricultural management.
  • Evidence of training, education, work history, and financial records of prior farm employment.
  • Alberta’s proposed farm business model.
  • proof that your strategy will be funded by any Canadian financial institution.
